The Kids Like Me Curriculum

The Kids Like Me! curriculum consists of 13 sessions with separate, fully detailed lesson plans for preschool (4 yrs – K), elementary (6-8 yrs.) and preteens (9-12 yrs.). Session Summary sheets tell parents what their children learned in each session AND gives them a To-Do-At-Home Activity to reinforce what they’ve learned during the week.

Curriculum Components

The Kids Like Me! curriculum contains:

Preface/Administrative Guide. This contains complete instructions for getting a KLM program started in your area and complete information on using the curriculum. Also contains helpful tips on leading children’s support groups, handling sensitive issues (confidentiality) and avoiding legal problems. To view or download the preface, click here.
Session Plans.* Each session plan consists of a session overview, a separate lesson plan for preschool (age 4-K), children (age 6-8), preteens (ages 9-12), and copy masters for teaching materials (i.e., activity sheets, posters, scripts). To view or download Session 1, click here.
Appendices. Contains supplementary information on subjects specifically related to children living in families affected by addiction, as well as program forms and other important information.
